The Fugu
The maker's mark
The pufferfish doesn't apologize for taking up space, and neither does this bag. Hand-cast in solid brass over twenty-five days by Master Artisan Vereen, each spike pressed by hand into warm wax. Nine inches of sculpture that still carries everything an evening needs, a phone included. Only a master can make it. Only you can carry it.

Why is it called The Fugu?
Fugu is the Japanese pufferfish, served only by chefs licensed after years of training. The bag is shaped as the pufferfish, and the principle is the same: it exists because someone became skilled enough to make it right.
Will the spikes feel sharp?
No. One of the hardest parts of making it is achieving spikes that look defined and catch light, yet are completely smooth to the touch. Each is hand-polished. You feel texture, not edges.
What fits inside?
At 9"L × 1.2"W × 4.5"H it carries a full evening, a smartphone, cards, folded cash, lipstick, and keys.
Does it come with a strap?
Yes, a detachable gold-tone chain with a 20" drop for crossbody or shoulder wear. Remove it to carry the Fugu as a sculptural clutch.
The story
Vereen has never trained as a fugu chef, but he understands the principle. The pufferfish form is one of the hardest things to cast in brass: the precise roundness, the hundreds of individual spikes, the tension between a surface that should look sharp and must feel smooth against your wrist. He has scrapped castings that were close but not right. After years of it, he knows the difference.
The Fugu is not a bag that looks like a fish. It is a bag that required a master. The distinction is the point.
Only a master can make it. Only you can carry it.
