The Fresco Necklace
The maker's mark
Beads painted by hand in crimson, teal and ochre, each one carrying gold scrollwork and small pearl-like dots set into the surface. Between them sit brass beads worked in fine granulation. Close up it reads like a painted wall that has kept its color, which is where the name came from.

Are the patterns printed?
No. Each bead is painted by hand and set with small pearl-like dots, so the scrollwork varies slightly from bead to bead. Looked at closely, that variation is what tells you a person made it.
Is the length adjustable?
Yes. It measures 16 inches and closes with a lobster clasp onto an extender chain, so you can wear it high at the collarbone or a little lower.
Will the brass darken over time?
It can, and many people come to like it. Brass responds to air and skin, deepening slowly in tone. Keeping the piece dry and storing it in its box slows that down, and a gentle wipe with a soft cloth brings the brightness back.

What is Gullye
Gullye finds its soul in the forgotten lanes, where quiet hands shape beauty that the world often overlooks. We bring these stories forward not as relics of the past, but as living treasures meant to be cherished.

The house of Gullye
Slow by hand.
Heirloom objects from the workshops of South Asia, made in editions, never in factories.

Gullye makes sculptural pieces by hand, in small editions, with master artisans in Jaipur. Once an edition sells out, it is retired.
The specification
The painted surfaces are worked by hand and should be treated as you would a fine finish. Wipe only with a soft, dry cloth, never a damp one, and keep the piece away from water, perfume, and lotion. Brass darkens gently with time. Store it flat and on its own. Store in the Gullye box.
