The raised relief can collect dust over time. To keep the design crisp, lightly dust the crevices with a soft brush. The antique finish is intentional, so do not polish it with harsh chemicals. Store in the Gullye dust bag to protect the charms.

Does it fit a phone?

Yes. At 7"W × 5"H × 1.75"D it is our most spacious bag and fits standard smartphones, with room for cards, lipstick, keys, and a compact alongside.

Is it heavy to carry?

At 14 oz it has a solid, structured feel, but the twisted-rope handle is made for comfortable hand or arm carry, and the raised relief adds volume without much weight.

What are the small charms on the bottom?

Articulated floral-bud charms along the bottom and sides, a signature Botanist detail that adds a little movement as you walk. Store it in the Gullye dust bag to protect them.

The story

Most metal bags are cast in a mold. The Botanist is worked by hand.

Master Artisan Vereen builds the relief from the back of the brass, hammering blind to push the metal outward and judging the depth of each leaf and petal by feel. He has to picture the whole floral pattern in reverse as he works. The result is a kind of hollow, three-dimensional relief that gives the bag real visual volume while keeping it surprisingly light.

The motifs are organic; the silhouette is architectural. It is a collision of soft and rigid, and that tension is the point.

Heavy on history. Light on your arm.
