What fits inside?
It is a considered mini bag. At 5" wide and 4.5" tall it holds the essentials, cards, folded cash, lipstick, keys, and a phone if it is compact. It is an evening decision about what actually matters.
How do I wear it?
Two ways. Attach the gold-tone chain for crossbody wear, or remove it and carry it by the top handle as a structured clutch.
What is hand block printing?
The deep teal ground and florals are carved into teak blocks, dipped in dye, and pressed into the cotton by hand, one impression at a time. Every repeat is placed by hand, so no two are exactly alike.
Is it vegan?
Yes. Hand block-printed cotton with a soft cotton lining and a gold-tone metal chain. No animal products.
The story
The deep teal here is not simply blue; it is the blue of a sky that has not yet decided to become night, with the last pink blooms of a warm day pressed into it. Reaching that depth by hand takes dye mixed precisely and a block pressed with even pressure across every repeat. The printer feels it through the palm.
The Soir is structured where the other prints are soft. It stands on its own. At five inches it holds exactly what the night requires and nothing more, which is the discipline of a small bag: it makes you choose only what matters.
For the hour when everything becomes more interesting.

Gullye makes sculptural pieces by hand, in small editions, with master artisans in Jaipur. Once an edition sells out, it is retired.
The specification
The Soir is hand block-printed cotton, and its deep teal ground is rich in dye, so handle it with care. To clean, press the exterior gently with a soft damp cloth. Do not hand wash, machine wash, tumble dry, or dry clean. Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from perfume sprayed directly on the fabric. Store in the Gullye dust bag.
In confidence

There is a particular quality to evening light. The blue deepens, the pink appears at the edges, and everything that looked ordinary an hour ago takes on warmth. The French treat le soir as its own time of day, the hour when people become more themselves.
