TechniqueGeode slice set in brass, held on a double band
Geode slicebrass with a gold-tone finish

Two thin bands of brass, open at the back, carrying a single slice of blue geode where they meet. The stone was cut to show its hollow center, so a seam of raw crystal runs through the blue. Everything else is kept deliberately spare so the stone has the whole cuff to itself.

Brass darkens gently with time and touch, and an uncut stone keeps the surfaces it was found with. Wipe both with a soft, dry cloth. Keep the piece away from water, perfume, and lotion, each of which dulls a raw surface. Store it flat and on its own, so the exposed edges are not knocked against harder pieces. Store in the Gullye box.

Dispatched within 1 to 2 business days by FedEx Ground, arriving in 2 to 7 days across the U.S. Your tracking follows the moment it leaves us. Should it ever need to come home, you have 30 days from delivery.

What is a geode slice?

A geode is a stone that formed hollow, with crystals growing inward into the cavity. Slicing it opens that cavity, so you see a rim of solid color around a center of raw crystal. Because no two cavities form alike, no two slices are alike.

Will it fit me?

The cuff is open at the back and can be eased gently to fit. Adjust it slowly with both hands rather than bending it sharply, and it will hold its shape.

How are the stones held?

Brass is worked over the edge of each stone until it grips on its own. Nothing is glued.

Will the brass darken over time?

It can, and many people come to like it. Brass responds to air and skin, deepening slowly in tone. Keeping the piece dry and storing it in its box slows that down, and a gentle wipe with a soft cloth brings the brightness back.
