Care

The Greco is made from hand block printed cotton. The dye is set by hand and the fabric responds to rough treatment accordingly. Treat it with the same intention it was made with.
To clean, press gently with a soft damp cloth on the exterior. Do not hand wash, machine wash, tumble dry, or dry clean. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight natural dyes deepen beautifully with age but can fade unevenly with overexposure. When not in use, stuff lightly to hold the crescent form and store in a cool dry place.

FAQs

Why is it called The Greco?

The geometric print on this bag traces its lineage through Greek meander patterns, Moorish tilework, and Rajasthani architectural detail. The name acknowledges that lineage without belonging entirely to any one culture. It is a pattern that has appeared wherever civilisations built things meant to last. What is hand block printing?Hand block printing is one of India's oldest textile traditions. A design is carved into a block of teak wood. That block is dipped in dye and pressed into fabric by hand, one impression at a time. A full piece of fabric requires hundreds of individual presses. The repeat is maintained by the printer's memory and muscle no machine guides the alignment. No two pieces are perfectly identical. Will my bag look exactly like the one in the photos?Close, but not identical. Because each print impression is made by hand, minor variations in colour depth, pattern alignment, and dye saturation exist between pieces. This is not a flaw. It is the mark of something made by a human hand rather than a machine. What fits inside? At 11 inches long and 4.5 inches tall, The Greco holds a full day: smartphone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, and a small notebook. The interior slip pocket keeps cards and lip balm within easy reach. The 2-inch depth keeps the crescent silhouette slim and close against the body.Is it vegan?Yes. The Greco is made from hand block printed cotton, vegan leather, and jacquard fabric. No animal products are used anywhere in the construction. How do I wear it?The Greco is a shoulder bag. The strap positions the bag at the hip, where the crescent curve rests naturally against the body. It moves between casual and dressed up without needing to be told. The print makes the decision for it.

  • The geometric patterns carved into wooden blocks in Rajasthan's printing quarters did not begin as fashion. They began as architecture. The interlocking squares and lines that repeat across The Greco trace a lineage that runs through Greek meander borders, Moorish tilework, and Rajasthani fort walls civilisations that understood that geometry was not decoration. It was order. It was a statement that the person who made this knew exactly what they were doing.

In Rajasthan, a block printer carves each motif by hand into teak wood every line deliberate, every corner precise. That block is then dipped in dye and pressed into cotton, one impression at a time. To maintain the repeat across the full length of the fabric, the printer works from memory and muscle. A misaligned press breaks the pattern. There is no undo. The discipline required to hold a geometric repeat consistent across a full piece of fabric by hand is the same discipline that built the monuments those patterns came from.

The Greco is cut from this fabric and shaped into a crescent that curves against the body. The tension is intentional the softness of the silhouette against the rigour of the print. Structure that bends. Precision that yields. This is what the best design does.

Some bags go with an outfit. The Greco decides the outfit.

Wear the geometry. Own the room.
