Care
Care
The Vendôme has two materials that each need attention: the block printed cotton exterior and the natural wooden frame.
For the fabric: press gently with a soft damp cloth on the exterior. Do not hand wash, machine wash, tumble dry, or dry clean. Keep away from direct moisture and prolonged sunlight to preserve the colour depth of the block print.
For the wooden frame: wipe with a dry soft cloth only. Do not expose to water or humidity as this can warp or discolour natural wood over time. When not in use, store in the Gullye dust bag in a cool dry place.
FAQs
FAQs
Why is it called The Vendôme?
Place Vendôme is the most prestigious luxury address in Paris, home to Cartier, Van Cleef, Chanel jewellery, and the Ritz. The name was chosen because this bag is built to that standard. It also contains the French word dôme, which is the shape of the frame that defines the bag. The name is both a reference and a description.
What makes the wooden frame special?
The smooth natural wood ball-top frame is the defining detail of The Vendôme and the rarest element in the collection. Most frame clutches use metal. The wooden frame is warmer, quieter, and more tactile. It feels different in the hand from the moment you pick it up. The magnetic closure is hidden beneath the dome so the wood is the only thing you see and touch.
What is hand block printing?
Hand block printing is one of India's oldest textile traditions. A design is carved into a block of teak wood, dipped in dye, and pressed into fabric by hand, one impression at a time. The full colour botanical floral on The Vendôme is achieved entirely through this process. Every repeat is placed by the printer's eye and hand. No machine guides it. No two bags are perfectly identical.
How do I carry it?
Three ways. Hold it in the hand by the wooden frame as a clutch. Attach the detachable metal sling and wear it over the shoulder. Or lengthen the sling and wear it crossbody for a hands-free day. The wooden frame reads as a clutch regardless of which option you choose.
What fits inside?
At 11 inches wide and 8 inches tall, The Vendôme is generous for a frame clutch. It holds a phone, a small wallet, keys, lipstick, and touch-up essentials. It carries a full evening in one hand.
Is it vegan?
Yes. The Vendôme is made from hand block printed cotton with a soft cotton lining and a natural wood frame. No animal products are used anywhere in its construction.

The Story Behind
-
Place Vendôme is an octagonal square in the first arrondissement of Paris. It has been home to Cartier since 1898, to the Ritz since 1898, to Chanel jewellery, to Van Cleef and Arpels. The column at its centre was built by Napoleon from the bronze of twelve hundred cannons captured at Austerlitz. Everything on Place Vendôme was built to last and built to be looked at. The address is the statement. It always has been.
The Vendôme was named for that standard. The wooden ball-top frame is the signature. Warm, natural, and tactile in a way that metal hardware never is. Where other clutches close with a click of cold metal, The Vendôme closes with the quiet press of a wooden dome that fits naturally in the palm. The frame is not decorative. It is the entire personality of the bag.
The fabric beneath it is hand block printed in Rajasthan. Full colour botanicals in pink, yellow, and orange on cream cotton, pressed one block at a time by a printer who has memorised the repeat. The print is lush and unapologetic. It does not hold back. At eleven inches wide and eight inches tall, this is a proper bag that carries a full evening or a light day with equal ease. The detachable sling converts it from clutch to shoulder bag to crossbody without changing the conversation the bag is having with the room.
Some bags ask to be noticed. The Vendôme does not ask.
The address says everything. So does the bag.
