The Story Behind

  • The Siren is the piece people stop you for.

    Not because it demands attention. Because it rewards it,
    the kind of object that takes a moment to understand, and
    once you do, you can't stop looking.

    It began as a sketch of Matsya: the sacred fish of Hindu
    mythology, the first avatar of Vishnu. An object meant to
    carry what matters through the world, unchanged.

    To make one takes 25 days. Seven stages, wax carving,
    casting, scale detailing, polishing, the hand-setting of
    the ruby eye. Your artisan touches it more than 60 times
    before it's finished.

    When it arrives: notice the weight of it. The scales
    catching light at every angle. The small ruby eye nobody
    sees until they're close enough to be curious. The click
    of the hinged belly opening.
