FAQs

  • The Art of the Miniature.

It is easy to make a large statement. It is much harder to make a small one.

Master Jeweler Ratan calls this piece a test of patience. The bird is barely the size of a thumbnail, yet it contains distinct segments of stone work.

To create the wing and body, Ratan uses a technique called Micro-Jadau. He must heat the brass frame and insert the tiny, hand-cut crystals into the channels before the metal cools. There is no room for error. A fraction of a millimeter off, and the stone won't fit.

This isn't mass-produced casting. It is a micro-sculpture that happened to be made into a necklace.

    "Joy comes in small things."
