  • The Night Garden.

In design, mixing geometries is difficult. You have the sharp curve of the moon and the soft cluster of the flower.

Master Jeweler Ratan brings them together in this piece using Micro-Jadau. The challenge is the "Green Moon." Ratan has to hand-cut the emerald-hued glass into tapered marquise shapes that get smaller towards the tips of the crescent.

He then embeds the crystal flower into the inner curve. The silver setting must be strong enough to hold two different stone shapes, but delicate enough not to look bulky.

It is a wearable metaphor for finding your own light, even in the dark.

    "Bloom where you are planted."
