The story

The Long Road.

In the history of trade, the Camel was the engine of the Silk Road. It carried spices, silk, and stories across the world.

Master Jeweler Ratan captures that legacy in miniature. The focal point of this piece is the saddle. Ratan uses deep blue, sapphire-hued stones to signify royalty.

The challenge here is the geometry. The saddle is made of straight lines (square cuts), while the camel’s body is organic curves. Ratan must fit the rectangular stones perfectly into the brass grid without gaps. It is a tiny feat of architectural setting.
