A peacock drop in antique 22k gold finish over solid brass, carrying a lotus panel hand-painted on midnight-black enamel and kiln-fired so the image is permanent. The two-point articulated design sways as you move, with small red bead accents keeping time.
About 2.5" long. Each lotus panel is painted by hand before firing, so every pair holds its own brushwork. Kinetic, luminous, and older-feeling than anything this new has a right to be.

- The bird is cast in solid brass with a matte gold finish, featuring a "crest" of red beads.

- The piece is articulated in two places the neck of the bird and the base of the frame allowing the gold leaves at the bottom to sway with your movement.

The story
In Indian miniature painting, the Peacock is the messenger of romance, and the Lotus is the symbol of the divine. Master Artisan Ratan combines them here in a single vertical drop.
The challenge of this piece is the "Canvas." The rectangular panel is barely the size of a stamp. Ratan must use a single-hair brush to paint the pink petals of the lotus against the black enamel background.
One tremor of the hand, and the pink bleeds into the black. Once painted, it is fired in a kiln at 800°C. The result is a painting that will never fade. The bird at the top is the guardian; the painting below is the treasure.
